Great Lakes Loons News Release
SOUTH BEND, IN - Rainy conditions and a poor evening outlook forced the postponement of Tuesday's scheduled game between the Great Lakes Loons and South Bend Silver Hawks. It is the sixth time in 2013 that the Loons have been unable to play due to weather.
The Loons and Silver Hawks will now meet for a doubleheader Wednesday evening at Coveleski Stadium. Game time for the first game is 6:05pm. Per Minor League Baseball rules, both games of the twin bill will be seven innings in regulation.
For the Loons, righty Jonathan Martinez (0-1, 4.00) is scheduled to start for the Loons in Game 1 with lefty Miguel Sulbaran (1-0, 1.17) slated as a scheduled reliever. Right-hander Blake Perry (0-1, 3.38) will likely make South Bend's Game 1 start. In the second game, right-hander Lyndsey Caughel (1-0, 0.00) is scheduled to start for the Loons opposite lefty Cody Wheeler (1-0, 1.80). The games will be broadcast live on ESPN 100.9-FM and ESPN1009.com
The Loons are a seventh-year Single-A partner of the Los Angeles Dodgers and members of the Midwest League. For more information about the Loons, visit Loons.com or call 989-837-BALL.
