March 9, 2016 - NBA G League (G League)
Westchester Knicks News Release

CANTON - The Westchester Knicks (23-18), the official NBA Development League affiliate of the New York Knickerbockers, fell on the road to the Canton Charge (26-14), the final score 101-95.

Westchester struck first and continued to control the majority of the first quarter, using a 9-0 run to go up by as many as 10 points. Canton chipped away in the last few minutes, coming within four, which would be the margin of the Knicks' lead after twelve minutes.

A big second quarter from the Charge bench propelled Canton to a lead change over the Knicks, despite the home team giving up eight points in fouls. Grabbing twice as many boards as Westchester in the quarter, the Charge took a one-point advantage over the Knicks out of the half.

Jimmer Fredette went on an 11-point run on his own in the third quarter, totaling 14 of the Knicks' 26 points. The team struggled collectively from the arc, hitting just 2-of-7 while the Charge were only slightly better going 4-for-7. Canton held on to their small lead, 76-74 heading into the final quarter.

The fourth quarter was a back-and-forth affair, the teams trading leads twice and tying it up on three occasions. With 2:42 on the clock, the teams were tied until Westchester's Jordan Bachynski dropped in a lay-up to give the Knicks the lead. The Charge quickly retaliated, hitting back-to-back three's to go up by four. The Knicks were unable to come back from the deficit, ultimately falling 101-95.

Jimmer Fredette finished with a game-high 26 points, with seven assists, five rebounds, and two steals. Jordan Bachynski knocked in 18 points, grabbing eight rebounds and blocking three shots. Travis Trice II and Thanasis Antetokounmpo finished with 13 points each, Antetokounmpo recording a season-high six blocks and just missing a double-double with nine rebounds.

CJ Wilcox paced Canton off the bench with 20 points. John Holland and Nick Minnerath finished with 17 points each, Minnerath also grabbing 15 boards for a double-double. Michael Stockton also recorded a double-double in the win, with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

The Westchester Knicks continue their two-game road series, traveling to Indiana next to face the Ft. Wayne Mad Ants, the Indiana Pacers' affiliate, on Friday, March 11 at 7:30 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast live on MSG+ and on the NBA Development League's YouTube channel.
