BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield Jam (18-22) fell to the Austin Spurs (24-14) 102-93 Tuesday night at the Dignity Health Event Center. Five Jam players scored in double-figures, led by Xavier Munford's 18.

The first half was a struggle offensively for the Jam as they shot just 28.0 percent from the field, compared to the Spurs' 48.9 percent, and went into the break with a 50-39 deficit. Munford totaled 12 points to pace Bakersfield through the first two quarters.

Bakersfield jumped out to a quick 7-0 run to start the third period and brought the Spurs lead down to a point on several occasions, including trailing 65-64 at the 1:42 mark. Austin would finish the quarter on a 5-0 run and took a 70-64 advantage into the final frame. Cory Jefferson and Askia Booker each scored nine points in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Jam's deficit.

Jefferson finished with 17 points while Terrico White and Booker each scored 12 points. Joel Wright came off the bench and posted 11 points and six rebounds.

The Spurs were paced by Brandon Fields (25 points, 5 assists) and Deshaun Thomas (17 points, 5 rebounds). Cady Lalanne had 14 points and seven rebounds, while Atlanta Hawks assignee Walter Tavares posted a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds to go along with four blocks.

Bakersfield will next face the Delaware 87ers on Friday, March 11 at 7:00 p.m. PT.
