Westchester Knicks' Run Stalled By Grand Rapids Drive

GRAND RAPIDS, MI - The Westchester Knicks (31-17), the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, fell victim to the team that has been its kryptonite all season, going 0-3 on the season to the Grand Rapids Drive (26-21), the Detroit Pistons' affiliate. The 91-89 loss broke a three-game winning streak on the road for Westchester.

Knicks affiliate Xavier Rathan-Mayes led all scorers in the game with 21 points, with four assists and two each of steals and rebounds. Guard Billy Garrett provided 19 points with six rebounds and four assists, guard Devon Baulkman contributing 11 points with four rebounds. Center Adam Woodbury grabbed 14 rebounds with eight points, and from the bench, Jordan Henriquez-Roberts tipped in nine points with six rebounds and three blocked shots.

Pistons Two-Way players Kay Felder and Reggie Hearn led the charge with a combined 34 points, Felder providing 18 with four assists and Reggie Hearn with 16 points and eight rebounds. KJ McDaniels notched a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds from the bench, Zeke Upshaw also supplying 12 points from the pine. Center Landry Nnoko fell just short of a double-double, finishing with 10 points and nine rebounds.

The Knicks tipped off the game with a 13-6 run, holding Grand Rapids to an 18-point first quarter and ending the first twelve minutes with a five-point lead - a trend that would continue for the next two quarters. Westchester pushed its lead to eight with an Ousmane Drame three for the first possession of the second, but the Drive battled back and tied it up 31- 31 midway through the quarter. Both teams finished with a 22-point quarter, and the advantage remained at five for the Knicks at the half.

An 8-0 run is how Westchester started the second half, widening the gap to 13. Much like the quarter before, Grand Rapids made a push to tie it back up, using a 17-3 run. The advantage remained with the Knicks heading into the fourth though, the visitors once again up by five after three. Westchester pushed it up to eight again within the first four minutes. The Knicks enjoyed its lead - until with exactly three minutes on the clock, the Drive took its first lead of the game with a floater from Kay Felder. A back-and-forth battle ensued, but a pair of missed free throws from Xavier Rathan-Mayes opened the door for Grand Rapids to take a three-point lead, which ultimately ended in a two-point win for the Drive.

The Westchester Knicks will play its final regular-season road game on Wednesday, March 21 against the Wisconsin Herd, the Milwaukee Bucks' affiliate, for an 8:00 p.m. ET matchup. The game will be streamed live via Facebook Live .
