RENO, Nev. - The Reno Bighorns (26-20) defeated the Agua Caliente Clippers of Ontario (20-26) 113-95 Friday night at the Reno Events Center.
Sacramento Kings two-way player Jack Cooley recorded his 20th double-double of the season with 25 points and 16 rebounds while Matt Jones had 26 points, five rebounds and three assists. Marcus Williams notched 22 points, six rebounds and seven assists.
DeAndre Daniels paced the Clippers with 18 points and eight rebounds while Tyler Roberson recorded a double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds.
The opening minutes of the first quarter saw a low-scoring affair, as both teams struggled to find footing early in the game. Disjointed game flow would mar the first quarter as the Clippers entered the second quarter with a 20-19 lead.
The Bighorns gained momentum in the beginning of the second frame as Williams drained back-to back triples in the opening minutes of the frame helping the hosts hold a nine-point the lead by the 9:10 mark. Ontario would cut the deficit to one possession on three separate occasions before Reno went into the locker room leading the Clippers 55-52.
Reno continued to carry the momentum through the third behind a 48.1% effort compared to Ontario's 35.0% opening the Bighorns lead to nine points by the 9:01 mark. The Clippers cut the deficit to three points entering the final quarter.
The Bighorns continued to build their advantage to as many as 23 points in the final frame to secure a 113-95 victory against Ontario.
