
Austin Spurs Top Sioux Falls Skyforce, Clinch 2017-18 Southwest Division Title

SIOUX FALLS, South Dakota - The Austin Spurs, presented by SWBC, notched its sixth straight win defeating the Sioux Falls Skyforce 117-107 Saturday night at the Sanford Pentagon. The win clinches the 2017-18 Southwest Division Championship title for the Spurs (31-16).
"We had another great effort tonight from our group," said Blake Ahearn, Austin Spurs Head Coach. "Every night someone different steps up in various ways but our togetherness makes us successful."
Jaron Blossomgame led the charge with 26 points and 8 rebounds. Olivier Hanlan followed closely with 25 points and 6 rebounds. Derrick White, on assignment from the San Antonio Spurs, contributed 22 points and 7 rebounds.
Austin scored 30 points in both the first and second quarters, putting them up 60-53 at the half. A 13-0 run midway through the third quarter would help the Spurs get to its biggest lead of 19 for the night. Sioux Falls battled back in the fourth, matching baskets (23 points) but couldn't overcome the Spurs lead.
Sioux Falls (25-22) was paced by Tony Mitchell with 21 points and 5 rebounds off the bench.
The Spurs face the Memphis Hustle on Tuesday, March 20 and the OKC Blue on Thursday, March 22 before heading home for the final regular season game on Saturday, March 24 vs the South Bay Lakers at the HEB Center at Cedar Park. Tickets are available at austinspurs.com.
