CANTON, OH - The Canton Charge (21-28), powered by the Cleveland Cavaliers, defeated the Wisconsin Herd (21-26), 109-103, in front of 3,563 at the Canton Civic Center on Saturday night for the last home game of the 2017-18 season.
On the first possession of the second half and the game tied, JaCorey Williams put the Charge ahead for good on two of his season high tying 29 points. Williams also finished with 11 rebounds to increase his team-leading double-double total to 13 on the season. Scoochie Smith had his second consecutive double-double with 10 points and 13 assists with two steals in 37 minutes. Marcus Thornton netted 20 points in 40 minutes while Grant Jerrett added 17 points nine boards and two blocks in 40 minutes.
The Herd were paced by Xavier Munford's 26 points and nine assists in 42 minutes. Former Charge center Mike Dunigan hit 7-of-11 shots for 14 points and eight rebounds in 24 minutes off the bench for Wisconsin. James Blackmon Jr. netted 21 points with five rebounds in 35 minutes. Joel Bolomboy had 16 points and eight rebounds with two steals in 37 minutes.
