
Stars Drop Contest to Iowa Wolves

DES MOINES, Iowa - The Salt Lake City Stars came up short against the Iowa Wolves Saturday night, falling 112-102, at Wells Fargo Arena.
Isaiah Cousins' led the Stars with a team-high 25 points and also dished out seven assists. Diamond Stone finished with 23 points and nine rebounds. Naz Mitrou-Long netted 19 points, seven rebounds and two steals, while reserve Deonte Burton chipped in 15 points.
The first three quarters of the game saw both teams fighting for the advantage via 16 lead changes and nine ties. Trailing 87-85 to begin the fourth, the Stars, who were without Erik McCree and Georges Niang, shot just .263 (5-of-19) from the field for the frame. The Wolves went on an 8-1 run in the final two minutes to pull ahead and close out the game for the win.
Iowa's Elijah Millsap led all scorers with 31 points. Five other players scored in double-figures for the Wolves: Anthony Brown (25), Melo Trimble (14), Perry Jones III (11), Justin Patton (10) and Marquise Moore (10).
The Stars will head to Texas to take on the Rio Grande Valley Vipers for their final two road games of the 2017-18 season. Tipoff on March 19 and 21 will both be at 7 p.m. and the games can be seen on Facebook Live and Eleven Sports, respectively.
