LAS VEGAS, NV - December 21, 2018 - The Westchester Knicks (14-7), the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, came up on the wrong side of a hard-fought battle, 99-88, against the Austin Spurs (11-8), in its second and final game of the 2018 NBA G League Winter Showcase.

Kadeem Allen led the Knicks in scoring with 14 points on 50-percent shooting. He dished a game-high seven assists, shot 66.7-percent from long-range, grabbed two rebounds and two steals. Zak Irvin finished with 13 points on a 62.5-percent clip and in 31 minutes, failed to turn the ball over while handing out a pair of dimes and two steals. For Austin, Chimezie Metu tabbed a game-high 24 points on 64.7-percent shooting and corralled nine boards. Jeff Ledbetter scored 18 points off the bench.

Both teams played to a tie in the third quarter's early goings despite Westchester leading for most of the first half. The first three minutes of the third quarter saw three deadlocked scores before Austin stepped in front for good. The Knicks managed to cut the Spurs control to two multiple times throughout the quarter before a fourth quarter saw them battling double-digit deficits.

Isaiah Hicks (left ankle) sat out today's game.

The Knicks will be collecting canned goods for its next game in exchange for a free ticket on Thursday December 27, against the Capital City Go-Go. The ticket can only be redeemed for that contest. The action is slated to start at 7:00 PM.
