Oklahoma City Overcomes Grand Rapids at Showcase

LAS VEGAS - The Oklahoma City Blue (14-4) defeated the Grand Rapids Drive (7-12), 106-98, on Day Three of the 2018 MGM Resorts NBA G League Winter Showcase.
Six of the 11 Blue players that saw game action finished in double figures. Forward Scotty Hopson registered a team-high 20 points to go with eight rebounds. Guard Abdul Gaddy finished with 10 points, eight rebounds and nine assists, falling short of a triple double. Oklahoma City improved to 14-4 with the victory.
The Blue won the battle of the boards, outrebounding the Drive 61-44. 22 of the Blue's rebounds were offensive rebounds, leading to 16 second-chance points. Two-way player Tyler Davis accounted for nine offensive rebounds in 23 minutes off the bench.
For Grand Rapids, forward Marcus Thornton tallied a game-high 23 points to go with five rebounds and center Johnny Hamilton added 15 points and eight rebounds. Reserve Shep Garner scored 14 points in 19 minutes. Grand Rapids went winless at the Showcase and fell to 7-12 with the loss.
Grand Rapids will visit the Canton Charge (7-9) on Thursday, Dec. 27 for its next game at 4 p.m. PT. Oklahoma City will wrap up their time in Las Vegas tomorrow when they face off against the Long Island Nets (12-5) at 5 p.m. PT. Both games can be seen on ESPN+.
