West Virginia starter Austin Coley pitched seven strong innings and recorded his league-leading 14th victory of the season as the Power posted a 6-2 win over the Lexington Legends Wednesday afternoon at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. Jordan Luplow had a two-run double and Chase Simpson a two-run homer for West Virginia.

The Legends took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on a double by Michael Hill and a single by Alexis Rivera, but the Power answered with two runs in the top of the third. Francisco Diaz led off with a walk, stole second and moved to third on a one-out single by Tito Polo. Luplow followed with a double to center field, and both runners scored to put West Virginia in front 2-1.

Simpson's homer in the seventh with Elvis Escobar on base gave the Power a 4-1 margin.

West Virginia added two runs in the ninth. Singles by Escobar, Simpson and Diaz produced a run, and Simpon came home on Tyler Filliben's sacrifice fly.

Hill's leadoff homer in the bottom of the ninth closed out the scoring.

Coley (14-6) allowed six hits and one run. He walked two batters and struck out three.
