Charleston, WV (August 19, 2015) - The West Virginia Power and Goodwill Industries of Kanawha Valley are pleased to announce a donation night, set for this Friday at Appalachian Power Park. The Power will host the Lakewood BlueClaws at 7:05 pm and fans attending the game have the chance to earn a free ticket to the August 29 game against the Lexington Legends.
On August 21, any fan who makes a single item donation to Goodwill Industries at the Morris Street entrance of Appalachian Power Park will receive a free general admission ticket to the August 29 game.
Goodwill Industries of Kanawha Valley serves 20 counties in West Virginia. Goodwill will takes these donated items and distribute them for sale in their retails stores across the area. The money raised from the sale of these donated items helps Goodwill provide employment, services and job training.
"It seems like everyone has something that they don't wear or use and that can be donated," said Tim Mueller, General Manager of the West Virginia Power. "Goodwill Industries of Kanawha Valley has been a great strategic partner of ours in many ways. They need more items for their retail locations and we anticipate a large crowd for our final Friday Night Fireworks show of the season. It is a perfect way to make a donation and help Goodwill turn a pair of jeans into a job."
