POWER REPLAY: West Virginia lost the series finale at Lakewood 4-3 in 15 innings. The Power trailed 2-0 after two innings, but scored a run the sixth and a run in the eighth to even things out. West Virginia tallied a run in the top of the 13th on an Elias Diaz single, but Lakewood answered in their half of the inning. In the bottom of the 15th, Zach Collier singled and scored when Jim Murphy reached on a single and a fielding error charged to right-fielder Dan Grovatt. Kevin Decker took the loss.

SAL ALL-STARS: Brandon Cumpton, Dan Grovatt, and Jameson Taillon were selected to represent the Power in the 2011 South Atlantic League All-Star Game in June 21. Cumpton is 6-4 this season with a 5.11 ERA, but steam rolled though May with a 6-0 record and a 1.18 earned run average. Grovatt is batting .297 over 53 games with one home runs and 21 runs batted in. Taillon, the second overall pick in the 2010 draft, is 2-1 with a 3.71 earned run average during his first professional season.

EXTRA EXTRA: Last night's game was the Power's fourth extra inning game of the season. West Virginia is 1-3 in extra inning games, having only won in extras on Friday.

HISTORY WITH THE ‘HOPPERS: West Virginia opens a five game, four day series at Greensboro today. The Power and Grasshoppers meet 16 more times during the 2011 season, including eight games at Appalachian Power Park. West Virginia holds the all-time edge in the series with 50 wins over 78 games, including a 23-15 advantage on the road.

CLIMBING THE CHARTS: Rogelio Noris hit 15 home runs for West Virginia during the 2010 season and has added five to that total so far this season. Stephen Chapman holds the single-season record with 24, which is also the most by any player during his respective stint with West Virginia. Noris is tied for third all-time in Power history with 20 career home runs, matching Kyle Morgan (2009-10), and trailing only Chapman and Kenny Holmberg (22 home runs over two seasons).

ROLLIN: Colton Cain pitched six innings last night; his fourth straight outing of six innings. Cain leads the Power with five quality starts, including each of his last four turns through the rotation. The southpaw leads the Power in ERA and strikeouts.

PINPOINT CONTROL: West Virginia pitchers have combined to walk just 127 batters this season, the fewest in the SAL. Power pitchers have also walked the fewest batters in all of professional baseball.

SERIES STARTING STRUGGLES: The Power have a combined record of 6-10 in the opening games of their 16 series so far this season. West Virginia is 4-4 on the road in series openers, having taken their series opening wins on May 9 at Charleston, May 25 at Delmarva, June 1 at Lexington, and game one of the recent Lakewood series on Thursday.

POWER POINTS: The Power will make up the May 3 rainout against Greensboro on June 14 at 5:30 pm as part of a doubleheader... Elias Diaz has a six-game hitting streak heading into his next game. Diaz has 10 hits over his last 25 at bats during his streak... Justin Howard has an active 12-game road on-base streak heading into today's game... Jameson Taillon has had two of his nine professional starts suspended due to weather (April 27 versus Hagerstown and Thursday).

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: This Pirates beat the Mets 3-2 at PNC Park... Indianapolis walked off with a 1-0 win over Gwinnett... Altoona had its game at Reading suspended and will finish it today prior to playing Sunday's regularly scheduled game... Bradenton beat Fort Myers 5-4 in 11 innings.
