Augusta GreenJackets News Release

Augusta, GA - Ehire Adrianza played the role of star at Lake Olmstead Stadium on Sunday evening, driving a tenth-inning RBI single into the right field corner and scoring Carlos Willoughby from second to give the Augusta GreenJackets a 4-3 win over the Lexington Legends in ten innings on Sunday.

With the win, the GreenJackets move to 5-4 this season in extra innings and snap a three-game losing streak. The win is also the fourth walkoff win for the GreenJackets this year.

Willoughby led off the tenth with a two-out double into the same right field corner off Brian Streilein (5-2), who was tiring in his third inning of work. After Lexington brought closer Jorge DeLeon out of the bullpen, Adrianza drilled DeLeon's third offering into right field to bring home the game-winning run.

Augusta drew first blood against Lexington starter Carlos Quevedo in the first inning. With one out and Willoughby at first, Adam Duvall drilled his league-leading 15th home run of the season to put the GreenJackets on top 2-0. Quevedo settled down after that, retiring the next 12 hitters he faced and 13 of the next 14.

The Legends took the lead off Augusta starter Justin Schumer with three runs in the fifth, an inning that saw Lexington pick up just two hits and a walk. They would benefit though from a stolen base and a pair of wild pitches uncorked from Schumer. Adam Bailey's two-run single tied the game and with two outs, Lexington got a 3-2 lead when the go-ahead run scored on a dropped fly ball to left-center.

Clutch hitting tied the game for the GreenJackets in the bottom of the fifth. With two outs, Chris Lofton fought off a 12-pitch at-bat to single to right and score Joel Weeks to tie things at three-all, where it remained until extras.

Mario Rodriguez (3-4) - the fifth of five Augusta pitchers - got the win for the GreenJackets, striking out one in a perfect tenth inning.

The GreenJackets send All-Star Taylor Rogers (5-6, 2.52) to try and make it two in a row over the Legends, who'll oppose with lefty Alex Sogard (1-1, 3.48). First pitch will come at 7:05 with pregame coverage beginning at 6:50, airing online at www.greenjacketsbaseball.com .

Single-game tickets are currently available by calling the GreenJackets front office at 706-922-WINS while further information can be found online at www.greenjacketsbaseball.com .
