The Elmira Jackals finish their west-coast trip with three games on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the Ontario Reign.

The Jackals and the Reign have never played against one another. Elmira is 2-3-0-0 against Western Conference teams this season, going 1-1 against Alaska and 1-2 against Las Vegas.

LAS VEGAS SERIES SUMMARY

After departing from the Twin Tiers last Thursday, the Jackals began the trip with three games in Las Vegas, Nev., taking the first one against the Wranglers, 4-3 on Friday, before falling 5-4 on Saturday and 6-3 on Tuesday at Orleans Arena.

Friday's game saw the Jackals establish a 4-1 lead in the third period behind a pair of goals from A.J. Perry before holding on late after a couple of Wranglers power-play strikes for the 4-3 victory. Garrett Zemlak made 26 saves in his Jackals debut.

On Saturday, Elmira took a 4-2 lead into the third period after Justin Donati drove a power-play goal home with 7.3 seconds left in the second, but Las Vegas scored three times in the third to defeat the Jackals, 5-4.

Las Vegas rushed out to a 5-1 second-period advantage on Tuesday and although Elmira scored twice to make it 5-3 after two periods, the Wranglers clinched it with a late empty netter in the final frame to grab the 6-3 win.

RECAPPING WEST-COAST TRANSACTIONS

Despite the west-coast swing, player movement has remained active for the Jackals over the past week.

On Thursday, Marco Cousineau was recalled to Syracuse just one hour after Elmira's arrival in Las Vegas. Yannick Tifu was also recalled to Binghamton on that Thursday.

Friday saw forwards Jason Bailey and Mike Hoffman assigned from Binghamton while goaltender Garrett Zemlak was acquired from the Stockton Thunder in exchange for defenseman Jody Pederson. Chris Frank was also activated off of the injured reserve for his first action since Nov. 13.

On Saturday, forward Jon Mirasty was recalled by Syracuse.

Elmira activated forward Dale Mahovsky off of the IR while placing A.J. Perry on the 3-day IR. Perry was activated on Tuesday from the IR.

Goaltender Timo Pielemeier was assigned by the Anaheim Ducks on Monday before being recalled by the Ducks on Tuesday. He did not see any game action with the Jackals.

Forwards Corey Cowick and Mike Hoffman were recalled to Binghamton and defenseman Eric Regan was recalled to Syracuse prior to Elmira's series against Ontario.

HOME GAMES DRAW CLOSER

The Jackals return to First Arena on Wednesday, Feb. 16 and Friday, Feb. 18 to host the Trenton Devils.

Elmira is 5-3-0-0 against Trenton this season and took the latest meeting, 4-3, on Jan. 14. The Jackals play in Trenton on Saturday following their two home games and will have only five duels remaining with the Devils after next week.
