Bakersfield, Calif. - The Idaho Steelheads came into Bakersfield unbeaten in 18 games. They left with a two-game losing streak as the Condors defeated them 4-3 in front of 5,860 fans at the Rabobank Arena on Saturday night. The Condors finish the regular season with a record of 40-22- 10

Two goals in the span of 29 seconds early in the first put Bakersfield in control. Mathieu Brunelle slipped a wraparound home for his team-leading 27th of the season at 5:30. On the next shift, Brett Lutes fed Paul Rosebush in front of the net, and the Captain slammed it in for his 22nd of the year.

It took only four minutes for Idaho to tie the game in the second period. Tim Verbeek potted his ninth goal of the season just 1:12 in, quickly followed by Mike Stutzel's tally. But the Condors escaped the frame with the lead. Sylvain Deschatelets scored for the second time as a Condor and 15th time of the season to make it 3-2 after two.

Bakersfield added two more in the third with Deschatelets and Lutes getting goals of their own to make it 4-2. Idaho added a late tally with their netminder pulled making it a one-goal game, but it's as close as they could get. After the game, Rosebush addressed the crowd to thank them for their support, and finished by shouting, "We're not done yet!" prompting an ovation from those in attendance.
