
Wenyen Gabriel Earns Two-Way Contract with Los Angeles Lakers

OSHKOSH, Wis. - The Los Angeles Lakers have signed Wisconsin Herd forward Wenyen Gabriel to a Two-Way contract.
Gabriel, a 6-9, 205-pound forward, has played in eight games with the Wisconsin Herd this regular season averaging 16.3 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists while shooting 45.1% from the field and 31.4% from three in 27.9 minutes per game. The 24-year-old from South Sudan has tallied eight double-doubles in the 2021-22 season including five 20+ point games.
Gabriel has spent time on five NBA teams over three years. This season, he signed a 10-day contract with the Brooklyn Nets. Following his time with Brooklyn, he signed two 10-day contracts with the LA Clippers appearing in six games averaging 2.3 points and 2.3 rebounds in 7.7 minutes. Most recently, Gabriel signed a 10-day with the New Orleans Pelicans.
