Blue Coats Face Rival Nets in Long Island Wednesday
Published on March 2, 2022 under NBA G League (G League)
Delaware Blue Coats News Release
The Delaware Blue Coats (12-5) hit the road again on Wednesday night, as they head to New York to face their conference rivals, the Long Island Nets (14-8).
This meeting will be the first between the teams since Showcase Cup pool play back in December, and will be the first time Long Island hosts the Coats this season. The Blue Coats hold a 2-0 head-to-head record against the Nets on the year, as Delaware opened their 2021-22 campaign with a 114-100 victory against the Nets back in November, and another W the following month, 125-110.
In both matchups, Blue Coats' guard Shaquille Harrison was the high scorer for the team, scoring 29 and 23, respectively. Harrison continuing to have that type of production against Long Island will be key for Delaware in tonight's contest.
A positive for the Blue Coats going into Wednesday is that they've only added to their roster since the last time these two teams met; neither Charles Bassey nor Myles Powell were a part of the team roster during either of the previous games. Both come into Wednesday night's matchup riding strong performances against the College Park Skyhawks on Saturday, Bassey having finished with a game-high 13 rebounds, and Powell as the team's leading scorer with 23 points.
Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
