ICE CHIPS: The KOOTENAY ICE enter this week's action with a 1-3-0-0 record (1-2-0-0 at home, 0-1-0-0 on the road) and in sixth place in the CENTRAL DIVISION...KOOTENAY has qualified for post-season play in each of the 17 years the team has been based in CRANBROOK (the longest active streak in the WHL)...The ICE also hold the WHL record for most consecutive seasons (16) with a .500 or better record (1999-2015)...KOOTENAY will play their next four games away from home beginning with a contest in PRINCE ALBERT October 6.
SEASON TICKETS: 2015-16 Season Tickets are available to purchase until Monday, October 5 at 5:00 pm...Individual game tickets for the remainder of the regular season will go on sale on Tuesday, October 6.
FLEX PAKS: FLEX PAKS are now available to purchase at the ICE Office...Available in Seven and new 36-Game booklets, FLEX PAKS offer total flexibility -- pick and choose the games you want to see this season all while saving on walk-up ticket prices...The first 100 FLEX PAKS purchased will include a two-for-one green fee voucher for WILDSTONE GOLF COURSE.
JOIN OUR TEAM: The KOOTENAY ICE are expanding their volunteer base and are currently seeking Ushers for the 2015-16 season...Prospective volunteers should be physically able to climb stairs and possess a friendly, professional demeanor...Interested applicants are invited to contact the ICE office at 417-0322 or email info@kootenayice.net.
ROSTER UPDATE: Including long-term injuries, KOOTENAY is carrying 25 players (three goaltenders, ten defensemen and 12 forwards)...The ICE roster is made up of five 1995-born players, four 1996-born players, eight 1997-born players, seven 1998-born players, and one 1999-born player...KOOTENAY has eight first-year players on its roster.
DID YOU KNOW: With an assist October 3 versus LETHBRIDGE, JAEDON DESCHENEAU moved into a tie with NIGEL DAWES for third among ICE franchise point leaders (272 points)...ZAK ZBOROSKY recorded his third career multi-goal game (two goals) October 2 against SPOKANE...CALE FLEURY set a new career high for assists (three) and points (three) in a single game October 2 versus the CHIEFS...MARIO GRMAN collected his first point in a KOOTENAY uniform October 2 versus SPOKANE...SHANE ALLAN made his first career appearance in the WHL October 2 against the CHIEFS.
TRANSACTIONS / INJURIES: The ICE traded Forward JON MARTIN (August 23, 1995) to the SWIFT CURRENT BRONCOS October 4 for a fourth round selection in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft...Forward JAEDON DESCHENEAU returned to KOOTENAY from the CHICAGO WOLVES of the AMERICAN HOCKEY LEAGUE October 2...Defenseman TANNER LISHCHYNSKY will be out of the ICE lineup day-to-day with a lower body injury...Defenseman TYLER KING will be out of the KOOTENAY lineup indefinitely with a lower body injury.
DRAFTED PLAYER: JAEDON DESCHENEAU - St. Louis Blues (5th Round, 2014 NHL Draft).
ONE YEAR AGO: After four games of the 2014-15 season the ICE were 2-2-0-0, after five games 2-3-0-0 and after six games 2-4-0-0.
