The Abbotsford Heat host the Milwaukee Admirals (AHL affiliate of the Nashville Predators) on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon at the Abbotsford Entertainment & Sports Centre (AESC). This weekend's pair of games will close out an eight-game home stretch in Abbotsford, the longest Heat home stand of the season.

The weekend games feature a rematch of 2012 Calder Cup Playoff opponents. The Heat swept the Admirals in a first-round best-of-five series last April, winning three consecutive games to advance to the Western Conference Semi-Finals.

The Heat enter the weekend having won two straight games, with Tyler Ruegsegger scoring the deciding goal in both games. Ruegsegger's third goal of the season on Tuesday night was the winner in a 3-1 victory, and his sixth round shootout goal on Wednesday night ended the game. The Heat took all four points in two midweek games against the Hamilton Bulldogs.

Danny Taylor has been in fine form in his six games played since the holidays. Taylor has a record of (4-1-0) and holds a 1.05 goals against average and .952 save percentage over the run. Taylor (1.72) and net-minding partner Barry Brust (1.54) sit first and second in the AHL in goals against average, and the Heat have a league low 80 goals against through 38 games.

With NHL Training Camps now concluded, forwards Ben Street and Paul Byron along with defenders Chris Breen and Brett Carson have been assigned to Abbotsford by the Calgary Flames. Carson has yet to play this season for the Heat, as his one-way NHL contract kept him from playing in the AHL prior to the end of the lockout. Carson played 34 games with the Heat last season posting two goals, eight points, 10 penalty minutes and a minus-six rating.

The Heat hold a home record of 13-6-2-1 at the AESC, while the Admirals enter the weekend 7-11-1-1 on the road this season. Heading into Friday's action, the Heat sit fifth in the Western Conference with 45 points, just two points out of the North Division lead. The Admirals sit just a point out of the playoff picture and have lost three straight games.

Sunday's contest is a 4:00 PM start and will be followed by the Heat's annual 'Faith Night'. Heat President Ryan Walter will join Heat players Tyler Ruegsegger, Ben Walter and Zach McKelvie for a conversation with Team Chaplain Dave Klassen. All fans in attendance are invited to attend the event, which will be held 15 minutes after Sunday's game in section 101.
