Win Blackhawks Tickets at Tonight's Game
January 18, 2013 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Rockford IceHogs News Release
Rockford, Ill. - After not playing Peoria for over a month, the Rockford IceHogs welcome the Rivermen back to the BMO Harris Bank Center for a Midwest Division showdown tonight at 7:05 p.m.
The IceHogs knocked off the Rivermen 5-4 in their last meeting back on Nov. 21 at the BMO Harris Bank Center. The Hogs are 1-2-0-0 in three Illinois Lottery Cup matchups with Peoria this season and the two teams will meet eight more times during the regular season after tonight.
One lucky fan at tonight's game will win a pair of tickets to the Chicago Blackhawks home opener on Tuesday, Jan. 22. Five fans will be randomly chosen to participate in a contest, which will be held during the first media timeout in the second period. Participants will be pulled by a random seat drawing and the five contestants' seat locations will be announced throughout the first period.
Then, the five fans will each be given a key, courtesy of M. Spinello and Son Locksmiths, with one unlocking a box that will contain the two opening night Blackhawks tickets against the St. Louis Blues at 7:30 p.m.
For tickets to tonight's game, or any IceHogs game, call (815) 968-5222, visit IceHogs.com or stop by any Ticketmaster outlet or the BMO Harris Bank Center Box Office.
Fans that are unable to make it to tonight's game can watch at home on 23.2 Antenna TV, Comcast Cable channel 436, Charter channel 970, Mediacom 101 or online through AHLlive.com. The web stream can be heard through IceHogs.com.
The IceHogs begin a season-high five game homestand tonight riding wins in their previous two contests, including a 2-1 overtime victory on the road in Milwaukee last Saturday.
Forward Jeremy Morin has had the hot hand for the IceHogs as of late, notching goals in his last three games. Morin also leads the Hogs in scoring against Peoria with three markers in the three meetings.
Rockford sits in a tie (with Milwaukee) for third place in the Midwest Division with 40 points, just two ahead of the Rivermen.
Next Home Game: Saturday, Jan. 19 vs. Grand Rapids at 7:05 p.m. The IceHogs host their 4th annual Pink in the Rink night as they don special pink jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game. The ice surface will also be painted pink. The first 5,000 fans through the gates will receive pink rally towels compliments of Dickerson & Nieman Realtors, Ferrellgas, Metropolitan Title Agency and Rasmussen College.
