Mignardi and Caron Assigned to Orlando

Houston, TX - Houston Aeros General Manager Jim Mill announced on Friday the American Hockey League (NHL) club has assigned forwards Josh Caron and Rob Mignardi to the Orlando Solar Bears of the ECHL - the Aeros ECHL affiliate.

The 21-year old Caron has skated in 11 games for the Aeros without picking up a point. He's also played in 19 games for Orlando this season. Caron scored his first pro goal and added his first pro assist for two points with the Solar Bears. The 6-foot-4, 215-pounder also racked up 34 penalty minutes with Orlando. He spent the last five years playing in the WHL with Kamloops and Everett. In all, the Campbell River, BC native scored three goals and added 19 assists for 22 points. He also amassed 446 penalty minutes.

Mignardi joined the Aeros in mid-December and played in 14 games, scoring one goal and adding an assist. The Richmond Hill, ON native has played in 25 games for the Solar Bears this year, scoring five goals and adding five assists for 10 points. Over the last two seasons, Mignardi has played in 44 AHL games for Houston and Manchester, scoring three goals and totaling five points.

Houston embarks on a five-game road trip, starting Saturday at 7 p.m. in Chicago against the Wolves. The team returns to Toyota Center after the All-Star break, hosting Texas on Friday, Feb. 1 at 7 p.m.
