
Anaheim Assigns Forward Dan Sexton to Norfolk

ANAHEIM, Calif. - The Anaheim Ducks, NHL parent club of the Norfolk Admirals, have assigned forward Dan Sexton to the Admirals. Sexton had been playing with the Admirals on a Professional Tryout Contract since January 1st.
Sexton, a 5-foot-10, 170-pound right wing, has appeared in five games with the Admirals this season, registering one assist and two penalty minutes. Sexton spent the 2011-12 season with the AHL's Syracuse Crunch, netting 13 goals and 43 points with 22 penalty minutes in 71 games. He ranked fourth in scoring and assists (30) with the Crunch in 2011-12.
A 25-year-old native of Apple Valley, Minnesota, Sexton has appeared in 106 career American Hockey League games between the Admirals, Crunch and Manitoba Moose, scoring 27 goals and 73 points with 30 penalty minutes. He has also appeared in 10 Calder Cup Playoff games, scoring three goals and eight points.
Sexton has played 88 career NHL games with the Ducks, scoring 13 goals and 32 points with 20 penalty minutes. He also has appeared in one career Stanley Cup Playoff game with Anaheim in 2011.
Prior to turning pro, Sexton spent two years playing collegiate hockey at Bowling Green State University, scoring 24 goals and 60 points in 76 games with the Falcons.
An undrafted forward, Sexton was originally signed by Anaheim as a free agent on April 7, 2009. He signed a new two-year deal with the Ducks on July 11, 2011.
