
Weekend Preview - Steelheads Look to Bounce Back

Mississauga, ON - The Mississauga Steelheads return to the Paramount Fine Foods Centre to take on the Niagara IceDogs on Friday night, before heading south of the border on Saturday to face the Erie Otters. Friday's game against the IceDogs marks the Steelheads first Redemption Game of the season, where unused tickets to previous games can be redeemed at the Box Office.
The Fish take on the IceDogs looking to avenge a loss in the season opener. James Hardie has been on a hot streak of late, as he's currently riding a 4-game goal streak (5G, 2A). Thomas Harley has recorded a point in all 6 games he's played this season (3G, 7A), while Kai Edmonds is coming off a 38 save performance against the Sudbury Wolves.
OCTOBER 18 vs. NIA (7:00 PM)
The Niagara IceDogs hold a 3-3-2-1 record this season, led by Nashville Predators draft pick Philip Tomasino who has registered 18 points (7G, 11A) in 9 games played. Akil Thomas, prospect of the LA Kings, has recorded 10 points (1G, 9A) in 6 games played. 2020 NHL Draft eligible goaltender Tucker Tynan has been stellar in net, leading the OHL with a .929 SV%.
MATCHUP
The Steelheads and IceDogs faced off in Mississauga's home opener, where they IceDogs came out on top by a score of 3-1. Forward Nick Isaacson scored the lone goal in the game for the Fish, while goaltender Kai Edmonds made 33 saves. Friday night's game will be the second of six matchups between the divisional rivals this season.
