Wednesday, July 22 Added to 2015 High Desert Mavericks Schedule

July 21, 2015 - California League (CalL1)
High Desert Mavericks News Release

ADELANTO, Calif. - The High Desert Mavericks, the Advanced-A Affiliate of the Texas Rangers, have had their fair share of what Mother Nature offered Southern California this past weekend. The Mavericks have had to postpone games since Friday, July 17 due to the devastating fire on I-15, heavy rain Saturday and Sunday, which then contributed to unsafe playing conditions in the outfield and warning track for Monday's scheduled double-header.

Wednesday, July 22 was a scheduled "off day" per the California League, however, in an effort to alleviate the amount of back-to-back double-headers and stress on the team, the Mavericks will take on the Inland Empire 66er's, affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, in a 10:00AM, 9-inning game on Wednesday, July 22, 2015. The parking lot will open at 9:15AM and gates open at 9:30AM.

In honor of this extra day of baseball, the Mavericks are offering "$1 Day" where all game tickets are $1, parking fees are $1, and the Weiner Wednesday promotions continue with $1 hot dogs, $1 bag of chips and $1 ice cream sandwiches. Tickets for this game will be valid for any seat in the seating bowl, except for seats held by Season Ticket Holders.

In addition, General Manager of the High Desert Mavericks, Ben Hemmen, will be completing a hot dog challenge in honor of this "$1 Day." During each half inning break, Hemmen will eat a hot dog, for a total of 18 hot dogs throughout the game. If he successfully completes this challenge, all fans in attendance will receive a free ticket to the August 26, 2015 Weiner Wednesday game against the Stockton Ports at 7:05PM. By attending tomorrow's game and Hemmen completing his challenge, fans have the opportunity to attend two Mavericks Weiner Wednesday home games for the price of $1.00.

The Mavericks are back in action tonight at Heritage Field against the Inland Empire 66er's in a double-header with gates opening at 5:00PM and Game 1 first pitch at 5:30PM. Game 2 will begin 20 to 30 minutes following the conclusion of Game 1, with pre-game ceremonies taking place between the two games.
