Colorado Eagles News Release
WINDSOR, CO. - The Colorado Eagles, proud affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche, announced today that defenseman Cliff Watson has been reassigned to the Eagles by the San Jose Barracuda of the AHL, while forward Julien Nantel has also been reassigned to the club by the AHL's San Antonio Rampage. Watson has posted nine goals and 16 assists in 39 ECHL games this season, while Nantel has generated two goals and four assists in nine games with the Eagles.
Watson was named to the 2018 ECHL All-Star Team and has posted a +2 rating in three games with the Eagles. The 6th round pick of the San Jose Sharks is in his rookie season, after completing a four-year career at Michigan Tech, spending his final two seasons as team captain. Watson highlighted his collegiate career by helping lead the Huskies to a WCHA Championship in 2017.
In addition to his time with the Eagles, Nantel has collected six goals and two assists in 47 games with the Rampage. In total, the 21 year-old has amassed 11 goals and five assists in 106 AHL games with San Antonio. A 7th round pick of the Colorado Avalanche in 2014, Nantel helped lead the Eagles to a Kelly Cup Championship in the 2017-18 season, posting eight goals and eight assists in 20 playoff contests.
In a separate transaction, defenseman Chase Norrish has been signed to a Standard Player Contract after joining the Eagles last week on an Amateur Tryout Agreement.
Colorado returns to action when they host the Allen Americans at the Budweiser Events Center on Saturday, March 17th at 7:05pm MT.
