Watson named CHL Player of the Week

Oklahoma City - Oklahoma City Blazers forward Ryan Watson was named the Oakley Central Hockey League Player of the Week, the Blazers front office announced today.

Watson, a 6-3, 200-pounder from Lethbridge, Alberta notched five points (4-1-5) in his two games played last week. That included the Blazers first hat trick of the season in an 8-1 victory over the Tulsa Oilers on Saturday. The hat trick is his second as a Blazer.

The five-point weekend moved Watson to within one point of the team lead in scoring with 39 points and to within one goal of the team lead in goals with 15. He is tied for the team lead in assists with 24.

Watson and the Blazers begin a key three-game set in DeSoto County, Miss. on Thursday against the Mississippi RiverKings at 7:05 p.m. Friday night, Oklahoma City returns home to meet the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs. The weekend concludes on home ice against the Texas Brahmas. Both home games will be played at the Ford Center at 7:35 p.m.
