Snap Three Streaks vs. Bugs

The Youngstown SteelHounds had a very tough weekend with the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs. The Bugs were able to take two-of-three from the Hounds as these two squads wrapped up their regular season series. Friday night the Hounds came back from a 2-0 third period deficit to tie the game. A hooking penalty on Eric Przepiorka in the last two minutes setup Chris Brassard to put the puck past Andy Franck to give the Bugs a 3-2 victory. Saturday night Bossier-Shreveport scored the first five goals of the game to go up 5-0. They won the game 5-3 to hand Youngstown its sixth straight loss. Sunday saw the Hounds take a 2-0 lead into the third period only to have the Bugs crawl back and tie the game 2-2 to force a shootout. Andy Franck stopped four-of-five Mudbug shots and Joel Irving and Chris Richards scored to give Youngstown a 2-1 edge in the shootout for a 3-2 victory. The win ended Bossier-Shreveport's 15 game winning streak which ties a league record. Sunday's win also snapped Youngstown's six game losing streak (0-5-1) overall as well a six game losing streak against the Mudbugs. The Hounds finish the regular season series with Bossier-Shreveport 3-6-0. The SteelHounds are now 21-13-2 (44 points) and are one point behind Mississippi for second place in the Northeast Division.
