
Washington Falls 4-2 to Evansville

The Washington Wild Things, presented by Washington Federal Savings Bank, fell to the Evansville Otters 4-2 in game two of a three game series at Falconi Field.
Washington started off strong with a run in each of the first two innings. Catcher Lance Koenig drove in outfielder Chris Sidick in first, while second baseman Kyle Werman drove in first baseman Andy Hudak in the second.
However, Evansville pitcher Chris Pillsbury settled down striking out nine Wild Things over seven innings and shutting out Washington bats over the next five innings.
Pitcher's Tom Cochran and Walt Novosel each gave up two runs in four innings of work, while Stephen Spragg tossed a scoreless ninth. Evansville recorded only six hits off of Washington pitching, however two errors helped the Otters to plate four runs.
The loss drops Washington record to 5-9 while Evansville improves to 7-7. Tomorrow the Wild Things and Otters battle in the rubber match of the series starting at 7:05pm followed by a Fabulous Fireworks display sponsored by Washington Auto Mall.
