Warriors Forward Calvert Named WHL Player of the Month for February

Calgary, Alta. - The Western Hockey League announced today Moose Jaw Warriors forward Atley Calvert has been named WHL Player of the Month for February.
Calvert, 20, recorded 27 points (13G-14A) in 12 games to lead all WHL skaters during the month of February.
The 6-foot, 193-pound hometown product from Moose Jaw found the scoresheet during every single Warriors game in the month of February and is riding an active 17-game point scoring streak, dating back to Wednesday, January 17.
Calvert recorded eight multipoint performances during the month of February, highlighted by a five-point night that included a hat trick in a 12-3 win at Spokane on Saturday, February 24. Calvert also logged a four-point performance, including another hat trick, in a 5-2 win versus Edmonton on Tuesday, February 6.
With 82 points (41G-41A) in 58 games, Calvert sits second in scoring on the Warriors and tied for 12th across the entire WHL.
The 2023-24 season represents the second consecutive 40-goal campaign for Calvert, who reached the 40-goal plateau with his second goal of the game February 24 at Spokane.
Calvert, who went unselected in the WHL Prospect Draft, was listed by the Warriors October 12, 2018, before eventually signing a WHL Standard Player Agreement during the fall of 2019. Since then, Calvert has skated in 227 career WHL Regular Season games with the Warriors, collecting 207 points (99G-108A) along the way.
In surpassing the 200-point mark, Calvert now owns - and continues to build upon - the Moose Jaw Warriors record for goals, assists, and points recorded by a Moose Jaw-born player. The marks were previously held by David Bararuk, who secured 172 points (68G-104A) in 212 games from 2000 through 2003.
Calvert attended training camp with the NHL's Pittsburgh Penguins this fall.
Heading into March, the Moose Jaw Warriors rank second in the WHL's East Division and third in WHL's Eastern Conference with a record of 37-19-0-2.
Atley Calvert and the Moose Jaw Warriors return to action Friday, March 1 (9:05 p.m. CT) when they continue an eight-game road swing with a stop in Everett.
