SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The Santa Cruz Warriors fell to the Austin Spurs 112-93 Friday night.

Facing as much as a 19-point deficit, the Warriors attempted a comeback that saw the hosts come within 4 points early in the fourth quarter. With 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter, the Spurs broke into a double-figure lead and never relinquished that hold over Santa Cruz.

JaMychal Green went for a game-high 24 points on 9-of-15 shooting from the field, while grabbing 13 rebounds. Josh Davis contributed a 5-of-10 shooting effort, going for 15 points and 16 rebounds on the night. Jarell Eddie, Orlando Johnson, Bryce Cotton, and Jonathan Simmons also contributed to then win with double-figure scoring efforts.

Santa Cruz was paced by Elliot Williams, who had 23 points. Joe Alexander contributed 15 points, while Sean Kilpatrick, James Michael McAdoo, and Taylor Griffin all logged double-figures in tonight's loss.

Austin outshot the Warriors (52%-39.8%), had more second chance points (19-12), had more fast break points (13-10) and held the edge on rebounds (55-31). Santa Cruz tallied more assists (24-19), had more points in the paint (58-50) and committed fewer turnovers (11-22).

Adreian Payne, the 15th overall draft pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, was on assignment with the Austin Spurs via the Fort Wayne Mad Ants due to the flexible assignment rule. This marked the first time this season that an NBA team assigned a player to the D-League that is not their direct affiliate. He contributed 8 points to the win over the Warriors.
