
Walraven Homers Twice, Boulders Bash ValleyCats

The New York Boulders used the power of the long ball to defeat the Tri-City ValleyCats on Saturday, 13-5.
Thomas Walraven continued his recent power surge by blasting two homers in the win. The Pine Bush, NY native has now hit 11 home runs in his last 23 games, dating back to June 21. Fellow New York native Patrick Kivlehan also went deep, hitting a three-run homer in the win.
Tucker Nathans went 3 for 5 with three RBI and two runs scored for the Boulders. Gabriel Garcia added two hits and two RBI. North Rockland alum Jimmy Costin also drove in a run for New York.
Andy Hammond improved to 4-0 on the season after allowing three earned runs in 5 2/3 innings of relief.
Cito Culver homered for the second consecutive game for Tri-City, which collected 14 hits. Robbie Merced accounted for three ValleyCats hits, and Jakob Goldfarb, Ian Walters, Jaxon Hallmark and Lamar Briggs each had two hits in the loss.
