Walleye Notes

A weekend sweep: Toledo went a perfect three for three over the Pink in the Rink weekend. Friday night, a four goal second period sent the Walleye to a 6-1 win over Brampton. Toledo fell behind 2-0 in the second period to the Greenville Swamp Rabbits before exploding with five unanswered goals in a 5-2 win. To finish the weekend, Josh Shalla fired up the Huntington Center with a goal late in the second period for the Walleye to win 2-1.

Standing room only please: The Walleye continued its torrid pace for attendance picking up the 14th sellout of the year Saturday night with 8,300. The fourteen sellouts is a single season Walleye record. Toledo is averaging 6,943 per contest which is second among all ECHL teams. The average per game is 503 more than the best average attendance in Walleye history (6,440 in 2014-15).

Home streak closing in on more records: Already a Toledo Walleye record for consecutive home wins, Toledo pushed its home run to 12 consecutive games with three more this past week. Top flight player: Shane Berschbach had his goal scoring streak and point streak both snapped in Sunday's win but he continues to be one of the best in the ECHL. Following the weekend, the second year forward ranks fourth among all ECHL players with 56 points (22G, 34A).

McCadden released: Forward Patrick McCadden was released from his contract on Monday. McCadden had one fight in three games with the Walleye and did not collect a point.

Sunshine state matchup for the Walleye: Three straight road games coming this week for the Walleye in the state of Florida against the Florida Everblades.
