Cason Hohmann Named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week

ELMIRA, NY - The Elmira Jackals, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres and the AHL's Rochester Americans, proudly announced today that rookie forward Cason Hohmann has been named the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for February 22-28.

Hohmann, 23, recorded seven assists and a plus-4 rating in three games last week. He set a career high with four assists in Saturday's 7-4 victory against Wheeling. Hohmann recorded at least one assist in each game last week and is currently riding a four-game assist streak.

Hohmann leads the Jackals with 29 assists and 45 points in 45 games this season. The rookie forward ranks fifth among ECHL rookies in assists and is sixth in points.

Prior to turning pro, the Arlington, Texas native spent four seasons at Boston University where he collected 92 points (32 goals, 60 assists) in 145 NCAA games.

On behalf of Cason Hohmann, a case of pucks will be donated to an Elmira youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 33,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
