Greenville Swamp Rabbits News Release

Greenville, SC - The Greenville Swamp Rabbits, proud ECHL affiliate of the New York Rangers and the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack, today announced veteran forward Jack Combs has been returned on loan from Hartford.

A seventh-year pro, Combs played 26 games with the Swamp Rabbits earlier this season, collecting 15 goals, 16 assists and 31 points. He ranked third in the league's point scoring race and tied for first in goal scoring when he was recalled to Hartford for a second time this season on December 27. He returns to Greenville on a six-game point streak (6g, 4a) dating back to December 10.

Under contract with Hartford, Combs recorded four points (2g, 2a), two penalty minutes and a +7 rating in 18 games with the Wolf Pack this season. The 27-year-old split last season between three ECHL teams (Allen, Stockton and Cincinnati) and two stints in Europe with the second-tier leagues in Sweden and Russia. Most notably, he notched 56 points (22g, 34a) in 32 games with the Allen Americans early in the 2014-15 campaign. He finished the season with 76 points (31g, 45a) in 47 games, good for sixth in the league's point scoring race.

Overall, Combs has earned 242 points (115g, 127a) in 191 ECHL games. He also boasts 79 points (40g, 39a) in 162 AHL games with Peoria, Bridgeport, Worcester, Chicago, San Antonio, Hartford and Oklahoma City.

Prior to turning pro, the 5'11, 200-pound forward played five seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with the Kitchener Rangers and Saginaw Spirit, amassing 235 points (96g, 139a) in 298 career games.
