Walleye Can't Close out Series in 5-2 Loss

(Toledo, OH) Wheeling Built a 3-0 lead through two periods and the Walleye couldn't recover in a 5-2 loss Tuesday night. The series is even at three games with the deciding game seven Wednesday night at the Huntington Center.

The Nailers scored first when Zack Torquato picked up an unassisted goal at 3:42 of the first period. With a 1-0 lead in the second period, Riley Brace scored his second shorthanded goal of the series at 7:39 of the second period. The Nailers made it 3-0 when Sahir Gill wristed in a power play goal at 16:58.

Toledo started a comeback with a goal from defenseman Joe Stejskal (1) at 7:02 of the third period. Torquato picked up his second of the night at 15:22 before Tyler Barnes scored his first of the postseason at 16:19. Torquato collected the hat trick with the empty net goal.

Walleye Notes: Goaltender Jeff Lerg had 33 saves on the 37 shots he faced. The Nailers outshot the Walleye 38-30 in the game. Wednesday's game seven will be the first ever game seven played in Toledo ECHL history. Our Fish, Our Fight
