Beast Hungry for New Rivals as 2015-2016 Schedule Announced

April 28, 2015 - ECHL (ECHL)
Brampton Beast News Release

Brampton, ON - The Brampton Beast are excited to officially announce their home and away schedule for the upcoming 2015-16 season. With the new divisional alignment, the Beast will play in the ECHL's North Division of the Eastern Conference, with 30 of their 72 games this season coming against their new division rivals the Toledo Walleye, Kalamazoo Wings, and Wheeling Nailers. The Beast begin their season on the road October 16th against the newly-minted Manchester Monarchs, and will kick things off at home the following weekend against the Adirondack Thunder.

Adding to the excitement is the fact that the Beast will play a number of teams for the first time in franchise history this season, including all three ECHL-newcomers including Adirondack, Manchester and the Norfolk Admirals. All three of these teams will be a part of the new East Division, where the Beast will play 28 games including 11 against former rivals the Elmira Jackals and four against the Reading Royals.

The Beast will suit up for nine contests against the Eastern Conference's South Division, including welcoming the Toronto Maple Leaf's affiliate Orlando Solar Bears to the Powerade Centre for a three game series in March. Additionally, the Beast will have a chance to soak up some sun on late January/early February road trips that see them play the Florida Everblades, South Carolina Stingrays, and Gwinnet Gladiators.

The Beast will only play five games against Western Conference teams, with four of those scheduled against the Fort Wayne Komets and one game against the Indy Fuel.

The Beast will not play former CHL opponents the Allen Americans, Rapid City Rush, Missouri Mavericks, Tulsa Oilers, or Wichita Thunder. Also missing from the schedule are the Quad City Mallards, who the Beast faced 15 times last season.

The Beast will play the bulk of their home games on Fridays (10 games scheduled) and Sundays (16 games), with just three Saturday contests and seven weekday games at home. The Beast are excited to be bringing back several favourite themes from past seasons, including a 3rd Annual Teddy Bear Toss, a second Guns N Hoses hockey tournament, another School Day Game and a Stick It to Cancer Walk.
