TONIGHT:
The Ontario Reign (3-3) and Colorado Eagles (3-3) play the seventh and decisive game of their best-of-seven Pacific Division Semifinals matchup, in a do-or-die matchup at Citizens Business Bank Arena. The winner of tonight's game will go on to face the Utah Grizzlies in the Pacific Division Finals. This is the 25th Game 7 in ECHL playoff history, and only the second in Reign history, with the first coming in the 2009 opening round series against the Stockton Thunder. This evening's match is the final time that Ontario will face the Colorado Eagles in ECHL history.
BLACKWATER LEADS THE WAY:
Judd Blackwater's goals on Monday extends his team scoring lead in the postseason to eight points (5g-3a). With his five goals on a series-leading 25 shots, his shooting percentage checks in at 20.0%.
WINNING BIG A TREND FOR ONTARIO:
So far in this series, all wins for the Reign have come by way of a three-goal advantage or greater. In fact, when Ontario has won in the 2015 Kelly Cup Playoffs, the team has surrendered only one goal in each victory.
EZEKIEL ADDS SPARK TO THE LINEUP:
After sitting out Games 2-5, Norm Ezekiel made his return to the lineup for Ontario on Monday and helped provide some much-needed energy. The scrappy forward tallied one shot on goal, and his hustle on the forecheck was evident for Ontario. Surprisingly, the team allowed the fewest power-play chances to the Eagles in the entire series, successfully killing off two of three penalties.
