RAPID CITY, S.D. (April 28, 2015) - Patrick Cullen scored what proved to be the winning goal in final seconds of the opening period and added an assist as the host Rapid City Rush broke loose for three goals in the first and held on to defeat the Quad City Mallards 3-2 Tuesday night, even the best-of-seven ECHL Central Division Semi-Finals at three games apiece and force a seventh and deciding game tomorrow night in Rapid City.

The Rush emerged from the opening twenty minutes with a 3-1 lead after a wild finish to the first.  Rapid City had already built a 2-0 advantage- on Riley Weselowski's drive from the right point point just a minute and eight seconds into the game and Winston Day Chief's wrist shot from the left wing circle midway through the period- before the late fireworks.  With just 31 second left and the Mallards shorthanded, Kevin Baker backhanded the puck home from the left wing circle to cut the gap to 2-1.  However, the Rush- while still on the power play- responded with only 2.6 seconds left on the clock when Cullen reestablished the two-goal gap by pouncing on a rebound.

The Mallards pulled back within one when Matt Neal buried a rebound just 59 seconds into the third period but even though Parker Milner, who replaced Evan Mosher in goal for Quad City after the first period, kept Rapid City off the scoreboard over the final 40 minutes, the Mallards could not complete the comeback bid.
