
Reign Force Game 7 with 4-1 Win over Eagles

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign (3-3), four-time ECHL Pacific Division Champions and proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's 2014 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings and Winnipeg Jets, extended their season for at least one more game with a 4-1 victory over the Colorado Eagles (3-3) in Game 6 of their Pacific Division Semifinals series in front of a crowd of 2,6807 on Monday night at Citizens Business Bank Arena.
With the win, the Reign ensured that Game 7 will be played on Tuesday, Apr. 28 at Citizens Business Bank Arena at 7 p.m. Fans can CLICK HERE to purchase tickets for this game.
Colorado opened the scoring by converting on its first power-play of the evening when Chris Knowlton stuffed in a behind-the-net feed from Vitalijs Pavlovs underneath the pads of Jussi Olkinuora at 7:47.
Ontario tied the score at 1-1 when David Rutherford fired a pass through the crease to Judd Blackwater, who buried a short-side chance past Clarke Saunders at 14:31.
The Reign pulled ahead for the first time in the second period when Matt Register converted on the power-play with a wrist shot through a screen that beat Saunders low to the glove side at 12:34; Rutherford and Garry Nunn picked up the assists.
Blackwater gave Ontario some breathing room late in the third period, as he poked the puck into the net during a goalmouth scrum at 14:30, with Maxim Kitsyn receiving the assist.
Register sealed the game with a shorthanded empty-net tally at 16:04.
Olkinuora earned the win with 21 saves; Saunders took the loss with 23 stops.
