August 21, 2006 - A walk-off home run with one out in the bottom of the 11th inning by Anthony Recker off Daniel Hawkins sent the Kernels back to Cedar Rapids with a 2-1 road loss to the Cougars on Monday night.
The loss ends the Kernels eight game road trip at 3-5 as they take two days off on Tuesday and Wednesday before starting the final home stand of the 2006 season on Thursday with four games against Beloit and Burlington. The Kernels scored their only run of the night in the sixth inning as with the bases loaded, Durost hit Marco Albano to score Brett Martinez from third.
