JERSEY SHORE, NJ - Jonathan Guzman smashed a walk-off single to left-center to give the BlueClaws a 3-2 win in 10 innings on Saturday at FirstEnergy Park. Guzman brought home Bryson Stott with the winning run and the first walk-off win in Jersey Shore BlueClaws history.
Victor Santos (1-1) escaped a jam in the top of the 10th inning to earn the win while Caleb Freeman (0-1) was charged with the loss, though the run was unearned.
The BlueClaws (8-9) have won four of the first five in the series with the Dash (8-9) with the teams meeting on Sunday afternoon at 1:05 to wrap up the weekend.
Luis Mieses took Kevin Gowdy deep in the seventh to open the scoring and put the Dash up 2-0.
The BlueClaws, however, would come back with a pair of solo home runs to tie the game. Herbert Iser hit a solo shot to pull the BlueClaws within 2-1 in the seventh inning before Keaton Greenwalt's game-tying home run in the bottom of the eighth inning.
BlueClaws starter Noah Skirrow threw four hitless innings, walking one and striking out six. Skirrow, singed as a non-drafted free agent last year, has allowed one earned run in 15.1 innings with the BlueClaws so far this season.
Stott drew three walks and has walked 19 times in the first 17 games of the season.
The teams finish their series on Sunday at 1:05 pm. Tickets are on sale now.
