Grand Junction Jackalopes News Release

With the tying run standing at third base with two out in the bottom of the ninth inning, Mylz Jones hit a ground ball up the middle, but Grant Massey ranged to his right and threw Jones out to seal the Great Falls Voyagers 4-3 win over the Grand Junction Rockies on Tuesday night at Suplizio Field.

Chris Rabago started the ninth with a double, his second hit of the night, and he advanced to third on Bobby Stahel's ground out, but Cole Anderson struck out before Jones' ground out sent the Rockies to their ninth straight loss.

Grand Junction was just 2-for-11 with runners in scoring position as they drop to 2-10 in the second half. They have lost their last nine games decided by a run.

Through three innings, the Rockies left four men on base while the Voyagers were held to a single runner, but in the fourth, Johan Cruz singled with one out. He scored when Zach Fish singled to put the Voyagers on top.

That was the only run Great Falls scored against Parker French, who scattered three hits over five innings. He struck out a season-high eight, without surrendering a walk, but with him out of the game, the Voyagers tagged Juan Pena for three runs in the sixth.

Matt Ball kept Grand Junction off the board for five innings, and Tanner Mendonca did the same in the sixth, but the Rockies scored a pair off Ryan Hinchley in the seventh, and Tyler Nevin singled home Sam Hilliard in the eighth, but was thrown out trying to stretch it to a double.

Daniel Suero finished with two hits, including a double, it is his 18th multi hit game of the season.
