The Wildcats climbed back, after trailing 3-1, to take a 4-3 lead early in the third period, but 2 Volt tallies 28-seconds apart gave Drummondville the lead back. They then added a pair of empty netters before the Cats scored twice in the final minute of play to reach the 8-6 verdict.
Drummondville's Sam Oliver, from Saint John, scored four goals with an assist for a five-point night and 1st Star honors.
Moncton's Yoan Loshing matched his goal output from last season with his 33rd marker.
