July 19, 2019 - Northwest League (NWL1)
Salem-Keizer Volcanoes News Release
The Salem-Keizer Volcanoes have won their fourth straight game and third straight against the Boise Hawks after they faced many deficits against the Hawks but pull away in the bottom of the ninth on a single from Yorlis Rodriguez to move one step closer in the hunt for the NWL south division first half-title.
After Boise takes a 1-0 lead, Hunter Bishop hits a bloop single to center field that scores Simon Whiteman and ties the game at 1.
After Boise re-takes the lead 2-1, Logan Wyatt hits a short bloop single into left-center field, scoring Bishop and Franklin Labour to give the Volcanoes a 3-2 lead.
In the bottom of the ninth, after Boise tied the game at 3, Yorlis Rodriguez hits an RBI single over the head of the left fielder that scores Alex Canario and gives the Volcanoes a 4-3 walk-off win.
The Volcanoes will finish off the first half of the season at Memorial Stadium in Boise, where they will play three more games against the Hawks. Kervin Castro will be on the mound for game number 1.
