July 14, 2015 - Northwest League (NWL1)
Salem-Keizer Volcanoes News Release
The Volcanoes added four new faces this past week while losing two players to promotion. Infielders Chase Compton and Richard Rodriguez were both promoted to Augusta on Monday as they continue their professional careers. Compton had been on a tear of late, collecting hits in nine of his last 11 games. He was hitting .308 with a home run and four RBIs for Salem-Keizer so far this season. Rodriguez played sparingly but was a slick defender when he did take the field, posting the third best fielding percentage on the team.
The Newcomers
Mac Marshall - @macmarshall19 - Marshall was a fourth-round selection in the 2015 Draft out of Chipola College, a junior college in Marianna, Florida. The left-hander was drafted by the Houston Astros in last year's draft out of high school but elected to attend LSU instead. He later transferred to Chipola in order to enter the 2015 Draft before being selected 126th overall by San Francisco. He made his Volcanoes debut on July 9 at Vancouver, allowing a three-run homer in three innings of work while striking out five.
