
Tri-City Adds to Win Streak with Victory over Eugene

Tri-City Dust Devils News Release
The Tri-City Dust Devils won the final game of their five game series 5-4 against the Eugene Emeralds Monday night at Gesa Stadium. Tri-City (14-12) took the lead with three first inning runs, and although the Emeralds (14-12) battled back to tie the game in the eighth the Dust Devils immediately regained the lead with the decisive run in the bottom of the inning.
Peter Van Gansen had an RBI double in the win for Tri-City. Justin Pacchioli had two hits, bringing his season batting average up to .295. Pacchioli also had a stolen base on the night. Austin Allen had two hits, an RBI, and a stolen base.
Eloy Jimenez did most of the damage for Eugene, collecting two hits and a run scored on the night.
Tri-City starting pitcher Walker Lockett had a good outing against his former team. Lockett pitched six innings while striking out four batters and giving up just two runs on four hits. Jerry Keel (1-0) got the win in relief of Lockett. Keel struck out two batters while giving up two runs and one hit
Starting pitcher Justin Steele had a short outing in the loss for the Emeralds. Steele pitched three innings, giving up three runs, none of which were earned, on four hits while striking out two batters and walking three. Jae-Hoon Ha pitched two and two thirds innings, striking out three and giving up one run and one hit. John Williamson (0-1) received the loss, pitching two thirds of an inning, walking three batters and giving up one run.
The Dust Devils will hit the road for a three game series against the Spokane Indians from July 15th - July 17th and will return home July 18th for the first of a five game series against the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes. There will be postgame fireworks that night thanks to HiLine Engineering & Fabrication.
