VISALIA, CA - After a LOOOONNNGGGG offseason the 2016 home opener is almost here! The Visalia Rawhide look to defend both their first and second half North Division titles and get back into the postseason for the fourth consecutive season while celebrating their 70th year of baseball in Visalia at Recreation Ballpark!
The Rawhide turn the lights on at Recreation Ballpark for the first time Thursday, April 14th vs. the Bakersfield Blaze at 7:00 p.m. presented by Budweiser. This game will be a sell out so hurry up, get your tickets and arrive early to avoid the rush! Give yourself time to grab a tasty hot dog and beverage, and watch as the 2016 Visalia Rawhide are introduced to the fans!
Fridays are Fun-Filled at the ball park provided by SunCrest Bank! The first 500 Fans can come pick up their 2016 Rawhide Magnet Schedule courtesy of Central Valley Business Forms when the Rawhide take on the Blaze at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 15th.
April 16th is the first All-American Saturday presented by Budweiser! Your Rawhide will be clad in American Flag Jerseys and with the purchase of a Boot Mug, fans will be able to buy half-priced beer and soda all season long! Members of America's military, past & present will receive a half-price ticket when they show their military ID at the ticket window. The gates will be unlocked at 6:00 pm. for a 7:00 p.m. first pitch!
KJUG Country 106.7 and Carl's Jr. wants you to have a Family Fun Sunday at the ballpark! Kids club members get pre-game player autographs and get to run the bases post-game! April 17th is also Exeter Relay for Life Night and the Rawhide will wear Exeter Relay Jerseys that will be auctioned off during the game with %100 of the money raised going to the American Cancer Society. All season long on Sundays, First Responders can get a $5 Grandstand ticket as part of the Rawhide "Everyday Heroes" plan courtesy of A & W Restaurants. The gates open at 12:00 p.m. and first pitch will be thrown at 1:00 p.m.
The Rawhide open up a three game series against the Stockton Ports on Monday, April 18th. All Monday home games will again be Make a Difference Mondays, presented by Fresno Pacific University - Visalia Campus. Bring a pet supply donation item worth $5 or more and get a free ticket to the game! Donations will benefit Ruffles Rescue. First pitch is at 6:00.
April 19th is the season opening 2-Fer-Tuesday, sponsored by Chevron-Texaco, as the Rawhide once again take on the Stockton Ports at 6:00 p.m. It's also Educational Employees Credit Union (EECU) Reading Day. Any kid participating in Tipper's Reading Program can redeem their completed bookmarks for 4 free tickets! Go pick up a 2-for-1 ticket voucher at your local participating Chevron-Texaco station and redeem it at the ticket office for 2 tickets for the price of 1, then you can come see Eddie the Owl, who'll be in attendance!
The season opening homestand wraps up on Wednesday, April 20th with the 3rd annual Craft Beer Night, brought to you by Tioga-Sequoia. There will be multiple brews on tap to make your taste buds go wild and for $20 you can get a GA ticket to the game and four drink tickets or you can purchase an all-inclusive VIP ticket for $40 and get unlimited 9 oz. tastings from 5:00 p.m. until the end of the 7th inning! Drink tickets can also be purchased individually for $4 along the top of the pasture. Amongst the beer tasting, it's also Win-Win Wednesday! A guarantee that when the Rawhide win the ballgame against Stockton every fan will receive a free ticket voucher to the next home Wednesday game (April 27th)!
