Vipers Take Down Force in Second Half to Earn 118-111 Victory

Sioux Falls, SD - Despite leading by as many as 14 points in the first half, the Sioux Falls Skyforce dropped a 118-111 decision to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers on Tuesday night from the Sanford Pentagon.

Miami HEAT assignee Orlando Robinson broke his G League era franchise record for consecutive double doubles (eight), as he had 34 points on 14-24 FGA, 13 rebounds, five assists, a career-high five steals and two blocks. Miami two-way player Cole Swider added 25 points on 8-15 FGA, four rebounds and six assists.

Sioux Falls (10-3) jumped out to a 39-30 lead to start the game, as Robinson secured 18 points on 8-9 FGA and three rebounds in the frame.

Rio Grande Valley (11-2) capitalized 11 points on eight Skyforce turnovers in the second quarter, as they were able to cut the lead to just 63-60 at halftime.

Darius Days netted 14 points on 6-7 FGA and added five rebounds out of intermission. It helped push an 11-point third quarter advantage, which gave the Vipers a 92-84 lead with 12 minutes remaining.

Rio Grande Valley built a 14-point lead in the fourth quarter, but the Skyforce were able to cut the deficit to 110-106 with 1:39 minutes left, but weren't able to complete the comeback.

Ray Spalding had a game-high 30 points and 13 rebounds for the Vipers.

Both teams wrap up the two-game series on Thursday at 6:30 PM CST from the Sanford Pentagon.
