Memphis, Tenn. - The Memphis Hustle (6-7), the NBA G League affiliate of the Memphis Grizzlies, defeated the Santa Cruz Warriors (7-6) 122-121 thanks to a game-winning dunk from Cameron McGriff to split the two-game series at Landers Center.
McGriff led the Hustle with a season-high 30 points and eight rebounds. Lucas Williamson scored a career-high 23 points. DeJon Jarreau tallied 22 points, nine rebounds and nine assists. Michael Devoe added 19 points off the bench. Adonis Arms finished with 13 points, five rebounds and six assists. Loudon Love contributed 10 points and nine rebounds.
Kendric Davis paced Santa Cruz with 31 points and seven assists. Donovan Williams finished with 26 points and seven rebounds. Pat Spencer contributed 15 points off the bench. Usman Garuba tallied 13 points and nine rebounds. Jackson Rowe totaled 12 points and 10 rebounds.
The Warriors led 121-120 after Williams made a pair of free throws with 1.8 seconds remaining, but McGriff hammered home a go-ahead, alley-oop dunk off an inbounds pass from Arms. Williams' potential game-winning 3-point attempt at the buzzer came up short.
After trailing by as many as nine, the Hustle went on a 32-15 third quarter run to take the lead heading into the fourth quarter. Santa Cruz responded with a 17-7 fourth quarter run to tie the game at 109 with 5:01 remaining.
The Hustle made 14 3-pointers and shot 48.9% from beyond the arc. Memphis outscored Santa Cruz 18-9 in fast break points.
The Hustle continue their seven-game home stand as the G League Ignite visit Southaven on Saturday, Feb. 3, at 7 p.m. CT.
